Hold begins at the point of suspension — the moment before movement becomes consequence. Light gathers above the horizon while the water beneath it seems to wait, holding tension without yet releasing it. Within Threshold, Hold is the first state: an attempt to preserve what cannot remain unchanged, and the quiet recognition that even stillness contains the beginning of departure.
